Lyon County’s Travis Perry exploded for 17 third-quarter points on the way to a game-high 31 to help the Lyons top hosts Hopkins County Central 70-56 on Tuesday night.  The Lyons claim their fourth-consecutive victory to improve to 17-8 on the year.  The Storm entered the night with two-straight wins, but now stand at 10-12 overall.

The Lyons used a balanced first-quarter attack with 4 points each from Perry, Kade Blackburn, Jackson Shoulders, and Gabe DeFew, to take a 5-point advantage into the second frame.

Samuel Almon put up 8 points, including two 3-pointers, to help the Storm’s cause in the second quarter, but Perry eclipsed his effort with three 3s of his own on the way to 17 points and a 40-27 Lyon  lead at halftime.

Blasin Moore scored 6 of the Storm’s 14 in the third, but Lyon County matched them to maintain its 13-point cushion into the fourth.

However, Hopkins Central wasn’t going quietly, as Tylan Mann poured in 12 points over the final 8 minutes.  Perry answered with 7 more, including 4/4 from the free throw line, to seal the 14-point win.

For the Lyons, Blackburn and DeFew joined Perry in double figures with 12 each.  Shoulders finished with 8.

Mann led the Storm with 18, followed by Almon with 13, and Moore with 12.
