Eric Brody’s steal and layup at the buzzer gave Christian County a 67-65 win at Pulaski County Thursday to give the Colonels a 14-15 record heading into the postseason.

The bucket capped off a monster night for Brody, who hit six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 25 points. After a Colonel miss in the waning seconds, Pulaski grabbed the rebound and threw it to Brody who scored the game-winner.

Christian County led 23-19 after one quarter but was outscored 18-12 in the second quarter. Brody and Fred Tandy combined to score 18 of Christian County’s 22 points in the third quarter as the Colonels retook the lead 57-51 heading into the final frame.

Tandy finished with 19 points, and Stephon Bussell scored 10 points.

Pulaski County lost at home for just the fourth time in 13 games this year. Jacob Combs led the Maroons with 18 points, and Grant Oaks added 17 points.

It was Christian County’s second win over a 12th Region team this year. The Colonels beat Wayne County last month in Georgetown.

Christian County (14-15) will play Hopkinsville Tuesday in the first round of the 8th District Tournament at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium.
