Fort Campbell’s wrestlers saw their day end on the first day of the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Lexington Friday.
Justin Wilson lost his opening match in the 220-pound class to Oldham County’s Marc Varella (7-0). He bounced back to pick up a win by fall (1:34) over Fern Creek’s Alex Martin before getting eliminated by Colby Stratman of DeSales 13-1.
Jesus Avila was eliminated in the 195-pound class with losses to St. Xavier’s Ben DePriest (fall, 1:41) and McCreary County’s Triston Conatser (3-1).
Wilson and Avila were Fort Campbell’s representatives at the state tourney.
