The Todd County Central girls’ basketball team reached last season’s 13th-District championship game, before falling 56-40 to Logan County.  It was the Lady Rebels’ first appearance in the title game since they beat Franklin-Simpson for the championship in 2012/13, the last of three-straight.

Todd County will see Logan County in the semifinal this season, facing the top-seeded Lady Cougars on Monday at 6:30 in Elkton.  Logan took both regular-season meetings with the Lady Rebels, finishing 5-1 in district play.  Sarah Hale leads the Lady Cougars with 13.5 points per game, with Kennedy Nichols averaging over 10 rebounds.

In the other semifinal, 2nd-seeded Russellville meets 3rd-seeded Franklin-Simpson.  Russellville finished 4-3 against district competition, dropping two out of three meetings with Todd County.  The Lady Panthers’ DeShala LaBlanc leads the team with 14.4 points a game.

To get back to the title game for the first time since winning it in 2016/17, Franklin-Simpson will have to do something it couldn’t do in two previous tries, beat Russellville.  The Lady Wildcats lost 41-31 away, before falling 44-35 at home just over two weeks ago.
