A troubling season has come to an end for the Todd County Rebels, as they lost their 13th District Tournament opener to the Logan County Cougars on Monday night. Their 82-62 defeat shuts the door on a 5-23 regular season that included a 13-game losing skid.

Senior and standout center John Calvery didn’t go quietly, though, posting 19 points in his final game as a Rebel. Freshman guard Preston Moore also added to the double-figure effort with 13 points in the contest.

For the Cougars, ’twas Anthony Woodard and Kelby Epley who led the way. Woodard scored a game-high 23 points, including nine in the first quarter and six in the fourth.

Epley was also strong to start the contest, scoring eight of his 18 points in the first quarter.

The Cougars will advance to the 13th District Championship game on Thursday where they’ll face the winner of Franklin-Simpson and Russellville.
