Hopkinsville senior Ellis Dunn became the third local player this week to sign to continue his football and academic career at Georgetown College, making it official at a ceremony at the school on Friday.  Dunn joins former Christian County teammates Zadae Jones-Wilson and Kenyon Drayton in signing with the NAIA school in Georgetown, KY.  Georgetown is coming off a 7-3 season, 4-2 in the Mid-South conference.

Dunn spent his first three seasons at Christian County High School, playing on teams that had a 28-8 record.  Dunn hauled in 57 catches for 794 yards and 4 touchdowns during his time as a Colonel.

During his senior campaign as a Tiger, Dunn was forced to take over at quarterback after a season-ending injury to starter Jay Bland in the fourth game of the season.  Dunn finished 4-4 as a starter, completing 21 passes on 63 attempts for 2 scores and 3 interceptions.  The Tigers won 4 straight with Dunn at the helm, including a 24-0 win at Warren East in the first round of the playoffs.

After signing with the Tigers, Dunn talked about his decision, and said while he’s been told he’ll play wide receiver, his willingness to move to QB when his team needed him was seen as a positive by his new coaches.
