Hopkinsville Takes Second at McCracken Powerlifting Meet

Trigg County took fourth at the McCracken County Border Brawl Saturday. Hopkinsville finished second, and Christian County was fifth.

Hopkinsville took second place Saturday at the Second Annual McCracken County Powerlifting Border Brawl with Trigg County and Christian County also bringing home top five finishes.

Hopkinsville had three lifters take first place. Tyler Thomas won the 155-pound class with a bench and clean combo of 455 pounds. Denarius Barnes won the 220-pound class with a total of 575 pounds, and William Long won the heavyweight division with a total of 660 pounds. In addition, Long had the top bench press at 405 pounds.

Other Hoptown lifters who finished in the top five were Grayson Eller (425 pounds) second place at 155; Hayden Lackey (475) second at 195; Isaac Linzy (415) third at 155; Tahj Manning (495) third at 250; T.J. Weston (450) fourth at 165; Jaxson Davis (490) fourth at 185; Erick Grubbs (515) fourth at 220; and Keane Mumford (540) fourth at heavyweight.

Trigg County also had three lifters take first place. Tayshaun Barker (420) won the 135-pound class. Cade Bleidt (175) won at 175, and Austin Mitchell (525) won at 205.

Other Trigg County lifters who finished in the top five were Ryan Graff (415) second at 415; Robert Manzanares (470) second at 205; Jaquellus Martin (380) third at 135; Cam Jordan (540) third at 220; and Keeton Harris (400) fifth at 155.

Christian County’s Trejon Wilson won the 145-pound class with a bench/clean combo total of 450 pounds. Wilson was also named the Most Outstanding Lifter in the 125-175 pound divisions.

Other Colonel wrestlers who finished in the top five were L’Ray Coleman (460) third at 205; Jerome Smith (575) third heavyweight; Famarion Harris (335) fourth at 135; Antonio Price (440) fourth at 195; and Corey Griffie (480) fourth at 250.

As a team, Hopkinsville (67 points) finished second to McCracken County (101 points). Trigg County (55) was fourth, and Christian County was fifth with 29 points.
