Scrimmage Between Defending Region Champs Goes to Muhlenberg

A big inning in the 2nd inning for Muhlenberg County turned out to be the difference as the Mustangs knocked off Christian County 8-4 Tuesday afternoon at Colonel Field. Muhlenberg County, the defending 3rd Region champions, plated five runs in the top of the 2nd to take a 5-2 lead and control of the scrimmage against the defending 2nd Region champs.

The Mustangs would add two more runs in the 4th and one more in the top of the 7th. Christian County scored two runs in the first and two more in the 4th.

Austin Fields, Eric Silvy, Elijah Underhill, and Elijah Owens, all went 1-3 for the Colonels to account for their four hits in the game. Fields’s hit was a double. Owens and Underhill each had an RBI in the game.

On the mound, Eric Silvy went two innings and gave up five runs. Wyatt Stevenson went three innings and gave up two runs, while Keith Stallons went two innings, giving up one run.
