Lady Rebels Seeking to Contend in 13th District

After the 2018 season came to a disappointing loss for Todd County Central last season, the Lady Rebels will be looking to take advantage of some returning experience in 2019 and take a big step forward. After beating Franklin-Simpson twice in the regular season last year, the Lady Rebels fell to the Lady Wildcats in the first round of the 13th District tournament. Advancing to the 4th Region tourney in 2019 would go a long way towards taking away the sting of that loss.

The Lady Rebels will have a big slot to fill in the lineup with the graduation of Micheala Robertson. Robertson has taken her skills to the collegiate level for Brescia University. Her leadership and big bat will be sorely missed by the Lady Rebels in 2019.

The good news for the Lady Rebels is they have a solid core of players returning for the 2019 season, especially when it comes to senior leadership. Paige Rager, Rachel Bilyeu, and Destiny Gilbert will be called upon to provide senior leadership for the Lady Rebels this season.

All of the experience is not in the senior class however. Juniors Jordan Weathers, Emma Harris and Whitney Higgins made significant contributions in 2018 and will be expected to provide more of the same in 2018.

Freshman Sam Case will be an up and comer to keep an eye on during the 2019 season.

Inside the circle, sophomores Haylee Vass and Maddie Williams will need to continue to progress for the Lady Rebels to be a threat in the district. Both have shown great potential during their time pitching for Todd County Central.

The Lady Rebels will be looking to make their first trip to the 4th Region tournament since 2014. Todd Central’s last win in the 4th Region tournament came back in 2008, over Clinton County.
