Caldwell County High School senior Trel Riley will play college football in the Southeastern Conference.  Riley announced on his Twitter account on Monday that he has committed to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Riley was a four-year starter at Caldwell County. He is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback rated as a three-star prospect.

According to various reports, Riley will be a preferred walk-on at Tennessee.

Riley is Caldwell County’s all-time interception leader. With five picks as a senior, Riley finished his career with 15 interceptions — one more then Dee Cain (2012-15) and Stewart Childress (1996-98). Cain is currently playing at Western Kentucky University while Childress starred at Murray State University.

Riley is the fourth Caldwell player to announce plans to play college football. Quarterback Joby Jaggers will play at Murray State while wide receiver Oliver Parker and long-snapper Mitchell Harralson will play at Western Kentucky.
