The UHA Blazers suffered the first loss on their Spring Break trip to Florida Tuesday afternoon. The Blazer bats never got going as they dropped a 10-0 five inning decision to Bullitt East in the Disney Baseball Spring Training.

Bullitt East pitcher Jarrett Wantye held UHA without a hit until Dan Johnson connected for a single in the top of the 4th inning. That would end up being the Blazers only hit in the contest. Wantye struck out 11, while walking three in five innings of work.

On the mound, Johnson kept Bullitt East in check until the bottom of the third inning, when they scored four runs. They would add six more runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. The Blazers’ defense did not help their cause much, as UHA committed four errors over four innings in the field.

Dan Johnson ended up 1-2 in the game for UHA.

Johnson pitched all four innings for UHA, giving up 10 runs, 7 of them earned, on 13 hits, and walked one.

Bullitt East went 28-9 last season, losing in the regional final to Pleasure Ridge Park.
