Falcons Out-Hit Fulton City 9-6 But Drop 3-1 Decision

Fort Campbell recorded nine base hits but could push across just a single run in a 3-1 setback on Fulton City on Tuesday.
Sophomore Cade Malray struck out nine and walked none to pitch the host Bulldogs to their first win of the season.
Eli Crockett homered in the second inning for the Falcons’ only run. The other eight hits against Malray were all singles.
Matthew Middleton was 2-for-3 at the plate for Fort Campbell while Tyler MacKay was 2-for-4.
Fulton City (1-4) had just six base hits in the contest, but the Bulldogs used two hits and two walks to score twice in the bottom of the first inning. Kire Tribble doubled home a run, then scored on Keith Martin’s single.
Fort Campbell cut the margin in half on Crockett’s homer to right field leading off the second inning.
Fulton City produced the only other run of the game in the bottom of the fifth when Zion Yisrael doubled with one out and came around when Hunter Hayes followed with a single to left.
Fort Campbell (1-4) will next play at home on Saturday afternoon against Kenwood from Clarksville.
