Lyon County Drops Second Straight Game on Tennessee Trip

A five-run sixth inning was too much for Lyon County to overcome as they fell to 0-2 on their trip to Kingsport, Tenn. with an 8-3 loss to Elizabethton, Tenn. Friday.

Elizabethton outhit the Lyons 7-4 and stole six bases in the contest. They also took advantage of two Lyon County errors that led to four unearned runs.

The Lyons loaded the bases in the fourth inning after an RBI single by Brody Williams but couldn’t push across another run.

They added two runs in the seventh inning on RBI singles by Gabe Board and Jackson Shoulders.
Austin Long suffered the pitching loss for Lyon County, allowing just six hits in five-plus innings of work.

He struck out five and allowed just four earned runs.

Lyon County (4-5) will try and snap a five-game losing streak as they wrap up play in east Tennessee on Saturday.
