The Muhlenberg County softball team scored 6 runs over its final two at-bats to double-up host Todd County Central 12-6 on Thursday night.  The Lady Rebels drop their third-straight to slip to 2-7, with a visit from 3-6 Glasgow scheduled for Saturday.  The Lady Mustangs have won four of five to move to 5-10 overall.

The Lady Rebels took an early lead on an RBI double by Whitney Higgins in the bottom of the first, but the Lady Mustangs charged back in the third with 5 runs, highlighted by a 2-run home run by Courtney Hale.

Down 6-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Lady Rebels tied things up when Samantha Case doubled to bring in a run, followed by a triple from Rachel Bilyeu that scored 2.  Abigail McPherson capped the rally with an RBI double.

However, the Lady Mustangs would again use the long ball to jump back in front, with Alyssa Brewer connecting on a 2-run bomb for a 10-6 advantage.  Brewer would leave the yard again in the seventh, launching another 2-run shot over the right-field fence for the final margin.

McPherson took the loss for the Lady Rebels, working four and two-thirds innings while allowing 7 runs, 5 earned, on 8 hits, with a couple of walks and strikeouts.

Josie Davis earned the win for the Lady Mustangs, pitching six innings and yielding 6 runs on 9 hits.
