Two big innings propelled Hopkinsville past Dawson Springs 15-0 Thursday in a late-scheduled game between the teams. Hoptown scored seven runs in the first inning and eight more in the third to claim the three-inning win.

Nadia Clayton and Taylor Joachim blasted homers for Hoptown, while Marley Hancock added a triple. Taiya Straight and Kaitlyn Kaetzel each had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Tigers.

Hancock got the win in the circle, striking out seven and walking just one while allowing no hits.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak and saw Hoptown improve to 6-10 on the season. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to play in the Zaxby’s Tournament this weekend in Clarksville.
