Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Score 25 in Win over UHA

It has long been known in high school softball that if your pitching staff struggles it can be very tough to win a game. The University Heights Academy pitchers had problems finding the plate Tuesday night, and it was costly, as the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers picked up a 25-7 win in the game between 8th District foes.

The Lady Tigers scored in every inning, and were the beneficiaries of 12 walks and seven hit batters over the course of four innings. Hopkinsville scored four runs in the first inning, ten in the second inning, four more in the third, and seven runs in the top of the fourth.

Hopkinsville pitchers had troubles of their own, giving up eight walks and five hit batters. UHA also scored in each inning of the game, with one in the first, one in the second, two in the third, and three in the fourth inning.

Nadia Clayton had a big night for Hopkinsville, going 2-2, with a double, a home run and five RBIs. Marley Hancock was 1-1, with a home run, and an RBI. Taiya Straight ended up 3-5, with a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored.

For UHA, Ragen Pollard was 1-3, with a double, and an RBI. Rachel Snyder went 1-2, with a double, and a run scored.
