Coming off a tough loss to Webster County over the weekend, it was a pretty good way for the Christian County Lady Colonels to respond. Hannah Sumner pitched a complete game, 4-hit shutout, as the Lady Colonels took down the Greenwood Lady Gators 5-0 Tuesday evening in Bowling Green.
Sumner had a stellar outing for Christian County, striking out two and walking three in her seven innings of work.
Meanwhile, her teammates gave her plenty of run support. The Lady Colonels scored in every odd numbered inning, with one in the first, two in the third, one in the 5th, and one more in the seventh.
Christian County scored in the first on an RBI double from Hope Jones. Tyler Shemwell blasted a two run homer to right in the top of the 3rd inning. She would then add an RBI double in the top of the 5th. The Lady Colonels capped off their scoring with an Emmy Blane home run to centerfield.
Tyler Shemwell had another big game for Christian County, going 2-4, with a home run, a double, and three RBI’s. Emmy Blane was 2-4, with a home run, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Hope Jones ended up 2-4, with two doubles, and an RBI.
