A night after erupting for four homers and 18 runs in a blowout victory over Fort Campbell, the Christian County Colonels couldn’t get anything going Wednesday in a 5-0 loss to visiting Henderson County.  Henderson bounces-back from a 17-5 drubbing by Hopkinsville, grabbing its eleventh win of the year and sixth in seven tries.  Christian County sees a three-game win streak snapped to stand at 8-5 overall.

Jake Murdach hit a two-run home run off Christian County starter Eric Silvy in the top of the first, with Henderson adding a run in the third and two in the top of the fourth for the final margin.  The Colonels threatened in the bottom of the fourth, but couldn’t take advantage of runners at second and third with only one out.  Christian County also squadered runners in scoring position in the fifth and sixth.

Silvy took the loss, lasting three innings while allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on two hits, with four walks and two strikeouts.  Layton Stallons pitched the fourth and fifth, yielding two unearned runs on a hit, and Wyatt Stevenson worked the final two frames, allowing no hits or runs and striking out one.

Keaton Holmes went the distance for Henderson, scattering five hits while walking four and striking out four.
