Lady Warriors Keep on Rolling With Doubleheader Sweep

After a slow start to the softball season, Heritage Christian Academy has bounced back with three straight wins that has seen the Lady Warriors jump in the KCAA Rankings.

HCA swept a doubleheader against the Academy of Individual Excellence with Carol Mitchell and Liberty Hartsell combining on a no-hitter in the opener for a 14-4 win. Mitchell struck out seven and walked three in getting the win. Hartsell came on to get the final out.

Bella Miller had a big day at the plate for the Lady Warriors. She had five hits, including four doubles in the game. In the opener, she had three hits and two RBIs as the Lady Warriors scored six runs in the first two innings.

Mitchell, Chloe Ginn, and Jaclyn Lowry each had two hits, and Jordan Trumble drove in three runs.

In the nightcap, HCA scored 15 runs in the first three innings of a 15-0 win. Miller had two hits and three RBIs, and Ginn also had two hits. Madison Kemp contributed a three-RBI day for the Lady Warriors.

Mitchell and Miller combined for the pitching win. Both struck out two and combined to allow one hit.

After an 0-4 start in KCAA play, Heritage Christian Academy has rallied to win three straight games and jump from No. 7 to No. 5 in the KCAA Softball Power Poll.

HCA will travel to No. 1 North Hardin Christian Thursday before returning home Saturday to host Clarksville Christian.
