Ethan Dooley is going to make a good coach someday. But first, the Christian County senior is going to continue his track and cross country career at Brescia University in Owensboro. Dooley made his decision official Wednesday at a signing ceremony at the school.

Dooley is in the middle of his final season with the Colonel track and field team. He has steadily seen his time improve in his best event – the 300-meter hurdles. He finished 10th in the region at the event last year and has improved his time more than two seconds this year. His fastest 2019 time in the event would have been good for fifth place at region last year. If he can knock another second off his time, he will likely qualify for the state meet this year.

His fastest time of 16.91 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles is also close to the qualifying standard for this year’s state meet.

Christian County cross country coach Ken Harrison calls him a leader and mentor to the younger runners who will represent both his family and his school well at the next level.

Brescia is an NAIA school that competes in the River States Conference.
