Trigg County celebrated Senior Night a few weeks early as the upperclassmen made key plays for the Lady Wildcats in a 4-2 come-from-behind win over Stewart County, Tenn. Friday at the Complex.

After missing several opportunities to dent the scoreboard, Trigg County broke through with four runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit and claim the win.

Kara Southwood led off the sixth with a single. Senior Hannah Colbert reached on an error and fellow senior Ashlyn Keller added her second hit of the game to load the bases. Senior Julia Rhone came off the bench to notch a pinch-hit RBI single to plate Trigg’s first run of the game.

Phelan Dossett tied the game at 2-2 with a single to center field. Alyssa Southwood followed with a sharp grounder to third that was misplayed into a two-run error that proved to be the game-winner.

After a slow start, Trigg finished with 10 hits – their third straight game with double-digit hits.

Colbert allowed just one hit in the circle for Trigg County. She walked just one and struck out 12. She finished the week 3-0 with 34 strikeouts, two walks, and 10 hits allowed.

Stewart County scored their two runs in the fourth inning on a single and two misplayed balls by the Trigg County outfield.

Trigg County (12-11) will host Christian County Monday at the Complex.
