Trigg County scored in every inning to hand Hopkins County Central a 13-3 loss Friday in just the Storm’s second-ever trip to Cadiz for a baseball game.

Hopkins Central wasted no time getting going as Blake Herring cleared the bases with a three-run double to put the Storm up 3-0.

Trigg answered with three in the home half of the first when Arlon Butts drew a bases-loaded walk, Jude Hunter was hit by a pitch, and Andrew Syester singled home a run.

Trigg broke the game open in the third inning when Butts drove a three-run double to center field to put the Wildcats ahead 9-3.

Hayden Cunningham added a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Trevor Cortner had three hits and scored three runs from the leadoff spot for the Wildcats. Riley Stallons also added a pair of hits.

Cunningham got the pitching win, allowing three earned runs and five hits. He struck out four batters.

Ethan Putty had two hits for Hopkins County Central (6-13), who was making their first trip to Cadiz since 2010. Several other dates had been scheduled in recent years but rained out.

Trigg County (10-9) will travel to Livingston Central Tuesday for a Fifth District showdown.
