University Heights Academy brought home a pair of top-five finishes at the Elizabethtown Twilight Relays Friday, however timing malfunctions in a couple of races may have hampered their team scores.
The meet used a motion camera at the finish line in the girls’ 400-meter run and boys’ 400-meter run. UHA expected to have a top three finish from Isiah Pantiere and a top five finish from Piper Hancock in the girls’ race. Because no time was recorded, their finishes along with the other runners in the heat, were not included in the final results.
Pantiere won three other events to help the Blazers to a fifth place finish. UHA totaled 54 points. Jeffersonville, Ind. took first place with 93.5 points.
UHA’s girls finished third out of 17 teams with 58 points. Mercer County (145.5) won the team title.
