Heritage Christian Academy’s Trenton Hayes and Caleb Jones combined for a no-hitter in a 14-1 victory over visiting Franklin Road on Tuesday night. The Warriors improve to 14-3 overall with a trip to face Assumption Academy scheduled for Friday.
Josh Jones got the Warriors started with a double in the bottom of the first to score Hayes, before coming home on a single by Grant Floyd for a 2-0 lead. HCA stretched the lead to 5 in the following at-bat, with Hayes doubling to bring in a run and Weston Powell scoring Hayes with a single.
Leading 8-1 in the fourth, Davis Miller tripled to score Floyd and Caleb Jones, followed by Hayes and Powell with RBI singles. Caleb Jones relieved Hayes to start the fifth, pitching around an error to finish-off the no-hitter.
Powell led the way at the plate with 2 hits and 4 RBI, followed by Hayes and Miller with 2 RBI each.
