Lady Rebels Ring Up 20 in Win Over University Heights

It appears the Todd County Central Lady Rebels like to swing the bats against University Heights. The Lady Rebels pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 20-8 win over the Lady Blazers Monday evening in Hopkinsville. Earlier in the season, the Lady Rebels picked up a 17-1 win over UHA.

Todd Central scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed for the rest of the game. The Lady Rebels added four more runs in the top of the second to extend the lead to 6-0.

The Lady Blazers made a move to rally in the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning, scoring three runs to cut the lead in half at 6-3.

The Lady Rebels then seized control of the game with six runs in the top of the 4th inning to go up 12-3. The big hit in the inning was a two run double off the bat of Jordan Weathers.

UHA took advantage of some Todd Central pitching struggles to score three runs in the bottom of the 5th to make it 12-6. The Lady Rebels then exploded for eight runs in the top of the 6th to blow the game open at 20-6. Todd Central took advantage of seven walks and a hit batter in the inning.

The Lady Blazers finished the night out with a couple of runs in the bottom of the inning.

Jordan Weathers helped lead the way for Todd Central, going 3-4, with a double, and five RBIs. Destiny Gilbert also added five RBIs, going 3-5 at the plate. Rachael Bilyeu added to the effort, going 2-5, with a double and 4 RBIs.

For UHA, Regan Pollard went 3-4, with a double, and an RBI. Becca Fitzpatrick was 2-4, with a pair of runs batted in.

Haylee Vass picked up the win for Todd Central, going four innings, giving up five earned runs, on six hits, and striking out three.

Mallory Ladd went four innings in picking up the loss for UHA.
