Lyon County’s girls picked up their 18th win of the season on Tuesday, overcoming an early 2-0 deficit to post a 4-2 triumph at Calloway County.

The Lady Lyons (18-10) were able to pull out the win despite being held to just two base hits by Lady Laker hurler Caitlyn Powers. However, Powers issued eight free passes.

Sydney Melton scored the go-ahead run for Lyon in the top of the seventh after being hit by a pitch to start the inning. She came in one out later on an error. Calista Collins, who had walked, scored when Kaelyn Conger reached on a bunt single.

That was enough offense to lift the Lady Lyons to victory.

Calloway (11-13) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning but was blanked the rest of the way by Lyon pitcher Allye Culp.

Lyon got an unearned run in the third, then tied things in the sixth when Hadlie Butler drew a bases-loaded walk.

Singles by Melton and Conger were the only hits for the Lady Lyons.

Hailey Johnson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Calloway while Paige Kramer was 1-for-3 with a double and a run batted in.

Culp allowed two earned runs on five hits in the circle for Lyon. She struck out five and walked two.
