Marshall County Scores Early and Often in 18-7 Win Over Trigg County

Marshall County scored in every inning to claim their 23rd win of the season, an 18-7 thumping of Trigg County Tuesday at the Complex.

After scoring three runs in the first inning, Marshall County strung together nine singles and a double to score 10 runs and break the game wide open.

The Marshals led 15-0 heading into the fourth inning when the Wildcats mounted a bit of a rally. Jacob Kent and Jude Hunter led off the innings with singles. Andrew Williams drew a walk, and Andrew Syester followed with a bases loaded walk. Keegan Slone and Caleb Federspiel each added RBI singles for Trigg’s second and third runs.

Riley Stallons cleared the bases with a triple to left field. Hayden Cunningham scored Stallons on a sacrifice fly for Trigg’s seventh and final run.

Hunter had two of Trigg’s eight hits in the contest.

Cole Griggs and Isiah Neeble each had two hits for Marshall County (23-5), while Brady Ives and Connor Johnson each drove in three runs.

Trigg County (12-12) travels to Russellville Thursday, looking to extend their nine-game winning streak against the Panthers.
