Caldwell County was limited to just three base hits, but the Lady Tigers made them count in a 2-1 win over Hopkins County Central on Thursday.

The game was a 7th District makeup date at Lady Tiger Field in Princeton.

Hopkins Central (8-18 overall, 2-4 district) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Brenna Sherman doubled to right and scored on a one-out single by Josie Menser.

Caldwell (14-10, 4-2) tied things when Majah Hollowell homered to left field leading off the bottom of the second inning.

Mashea Glover then singled with two outs. Glover stole second and then came in to score when Katie Franklin reached on an error. That pushed Caldwell in front 2-1.

That was all the scoring the Lady Tigers would need to win their seventh straight game. Caldwell’s girls have taken 12 of their last 14 outings.

Franklin was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers. She allowed one earned run on four base hits. Franklin fanned 10 and walked just one.
