5-11-mecham

Ty Meacham and Chase Oglesby had another solid showing for Trigg County in the final round of the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament Saturday, bringing home a sixth place finish out of 88 boats.

The duo followed their 14-pound, 6-ounce day on Friday with 12-pounds, 9-ounces on Saturday. Both days, they were able to bring the five-bass limit into their boat. Their big bass Friday weighed 4-pounds, 10-ounces. They caught another four-pounder Saturday as part of their 26-pound, 15-ounce day on Kentucky Lake.

The South Laurel team of Shawn Coots and Trent Keltner won the state title with 32-pounds, 13-ounces – just over a pound more than second place Jackson Kulijof and Lane Tooley of Muhlenberg County.

Meacham and Oglesby are the sixth team from Trigg County to finish in the top 10 at the state fishing tourney since the KHSAA started sponsoring the sport in 2014. Their weight of 26-15 was the fourth most caught by a Trigg County team at the state tourney.
