Colonels Bats Go Quiet in 4-0 Loss to Logan County (w/PHOTOS)

The Christian County Colonels late season struggles continued Monday evening on the road at Logan County. The Cougars held the Colonels to just three hits, while getting all the runs they would need in the 2nd inning, on the way to a 4-0 win in Russellville.

Logan County pitcher Dylan Penick limited the Colonels to a single in the second, and two more singles in the third. Otherwise, he was dominant in the game, striking out twelve, while walking only one.

Eric Silvy, Austin Fields, and Bryson Brown came up with the base hits for Christian County.

Silvy took the loss for the Colonels, giving up four runs, none of them earned. The four runs were set up by back-to-back errors by Christian County in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Silvy gave up just three hits, while striking out two, and walking two.

Lane Diuguid pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the Colonels, giving up two hits, while striking out four, and walking none.

The loss was the 5th in a row for the Colonels, and their 7th in their last nine games.
