Lyon County will take a 22-10 record into the postseason after turning back Calloway County 8-2 in baseball action Saturday afternoon at Jim Boyd Field in Eddyville.

Calloway (10-18) tied things in the top of the third on Jacob Fritts’ RBI double.

Lyon erupted for four runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up 5-1. Gunnar Bingham singled home a run to put the Lyons up 2-1. A pair of wild pitches helped Lyon add three more runs in the frame.

Long’s two-run home run to left highlighted a three-run fifth inning for Lyon. Another run scored on a balk as the Lyons went up 8-1.

The visiting Lakers got a run in the top of the sixth on Colby White’s RBI single to center. But Calloway couldn’t put together a rally to try to get back in the game.
