Pantiere and Morales Lead Stellar Blazer Track Showing at Region 1 Class A

UHA’s Isiah Pantiere finished with regional titles in each of the four events he competed in on Saturday to propel the boys to a 3rd-place finish at the Region 1 Class A meet at Murray High School, while Evelyn Morales earned the top spot in two individual events and helped the relay teams to a couple more on the way to a 2nd-place showing for the girls.

Pantiere took the top spot in the 100M with an 11.06, the 200M with a 22.57 and the 400M with a 51.27, over two seconds better than Crittenden County’s Eli Moss in second.  He also earned the regional title in the long jump with a distance of 20-04.00.

Tomas Duncan finished 1st in the 1600M with a 4:49.53, followed by Walter Kunnmann in 3rd with a 5:04.33.  Duncan also took the top spot in the 3200M, running away from the field to post a 10:53.16, followed again by Kunnmann in third.  Duncan got caught in some traffic in the 800M and had to settle for third.

Connor Dill ran 2nd in the 300M hurdles, finishing with a time of 43.69.

For the girls, Meghan Adams and Lily Hendricks went 1-2 in the 400M with a 1:03.12 and 1:03.97, respectively.  Adams also finished 2nd in the shot put, throwing a 31-07.75, while Hendricks also added a 3rd-place finish in the 200M.

Aisha Pantiere earned 2nd-place finishes in the 200m with a 28.38 and the 100M hurdles at 17.23, just behind Murray’s Campbell Homa with a 17.12.

Piper Hancock cruised to victory in the 800M, outrunning 2nd-place finisher Kaitlynn Burrus of St. Mary by almost ten seconds with a time of 2:32.92.

Muki Kunnmann earned two 2nd-place finishes with a 5:57.09 in the 1600M and a 13:22.34 in the 3200M, trailing Crittenden County’s Kate Keller in both races.  Kunnmann also earned a 4th-place finish in the 800M.

Like Pantiere on the boys’ side, Evelyn Morales enjoyed a perfect day on Saturday, taking 1st individually in the 300M hurdles with a 49.47, three seconds ahead of Murray’s Abbie Bierbaum, and 1st in the high jump with a personal record of 5-02.00.  She also anchored victories in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays, joining Hendricks, Adams and Pantiere to post a 1:51.46 in the 4×200 and Hancock, Hendricks and Adams for a 4:22.88 in the 4×400.

Lainey Burman finished 4th in the discus with a distance of 78-10.00, while Clarissa Miller took 6th in both the long jump and triple jump.
