Trigg County rallied twice to tie Crittenden County in the late innings and finally scored the game-winner on an Autumn Durham single to give the Lady Wildcats a 4-3 win in the Fifth District semifinals at Livingston Central.

The game-winner was part of a three-hit night for the senior third baseman who also made several standout defensive plays in the contest.

Julia Rhone smacked a one-out double to left field to get the rally started in the eighth inning.  Abby Terrell pinch ran for Rhone and took third base on a close play on a ground out.  Pinch hitter Adri Phillips was walked intentionally to set up a force play.  Phelan Dossett followed with a grounder that was bobbled by the Lady Rocket pitcher for an error and scored Terrell with he tying run.

After Darnall walked, Durham sent the first pitch she saw into right field for the game-winner.

Her hit was one of the few Trigg managed with runners in scoring position.  The Lady Wildcats left runners at second or third base in the second, third, and fifth innings without plating a run.

Down 2-1 in the sixth inning, Rylee Hendricks reached on a dropped fly ball, was sacrificed to second, went to third on a Dossett single and stole home to tie the game.

Crittenden County took the lead in the eighth inning when Ashlyn Hicks singled and scored with the aid of two Trigg errors.

Trigg County, who came into the game having scored just two runs in their last four games, found enough offense to outhit Crittenden 9-5 and reach the district championship game for the third time in four seasons.

Hannah Colbert picked up the pitching win, allowing two earned runs and striking out two, including her 750th career strikeout.

Hicks and Jenna Potter each had two hits for Crittenden County (16-14).

Trigg County (17-15) will play Lyon County Tuesday night for the district title.
