Four of the next 10 events on the LPGA Tour are major championships, beginning with this week’s U.S. Women’s Open at the Country Club of Charleston, S.C.

Emma Talley is playing in this week’s event and is more than familiar with the course. Talley won the 2013 U.S. Women’s Amateur at the Country Club of Charleston. Talley, a former Caldwell County and University of Alabama star, said that she brought her yardage book from six years ago to this week’s tournament.

Talley will be in the first group to go off the tee on Thursday. Talley, Ally McDonald and Mariah Stackhouse will start on No. 1 at 7 a.m. Eastern time.

On Friday, that threesome will begin on No. 10 at 12:45 p.m. Eastern time.

The U.S. Women’s Open is solely conducted by the USGA. The event began in 1946 and is the longest-running tournament currently on the LPGA Tour. It is one of the LPGA’s five major championships.

This year’s U.S. Women’s Open purse will total $5.5 million, positioning it as the largest in women’s golf and ensuring that its champion will receive $1 million for the first time.

The U.S. Women’s Open conducted by the USGA will air on Fox Sports 1 and FOX. On Thursday and Friday play will air from 1:30-6:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. On Saturday and Sunday, coverage will air from 1-6 p.m. on FOX.
