Fort Campbell Notches Top-Five Finishes at State Track Meet

Fort Campbell had several top-five finishes Friday at the Class 2A State Track and Field Championships that were suspended due to weather with two events remaining.

Doryan Hall and Austin Keeling each competed in three events for Fort Campbell. Hall finished third in the long jump with a leap of 21-feet, 6.75 inches. He was 18th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.49.

Keeling shook off a disappointing performance at region in the high jump to top 6-feet, 2-inches at state and finish second. Keeling finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 44-feet, 1.75 inches. Keeling was also eighth in the long jump at 20-feet.

Rafael Cerritos just missed reaching the podium in the 400-meter run with a ninth-place finish in 52.31 seconds.

Ke’Shawn Daniels finished 10th in the high jump with a height of 5-feet, 10-inches.

The 800-meter relay team of Ahmaad Barnette, Doryan Hall, DeAndre Jackson, and Camden Hyde finished 12th in a time of 1:34.64.

The 400-meter relay team of Rafael Cerritos, Deandre Jackson, Doryan Hall, and Camden Hyde took 13th place in 45.14.

The 3200-meter relay team of Brandon Clay, Monroe Thomas, Gabe Gamez, and Deontez Jenkins finished 18th in a time of 9:06.86.

Through 15 events, the Falcons had scored 13 points and stood in 15th place with Saturday’s races pending.

On the girls’ side, eighth grader Aliya Powers was sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 34-feet, 2.25 inches.

Ayonna Daniels was 13th in the 200-meter run with a time of 26.89 seconds.

Jahlyn Mincey finished 14th in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.88 and was 20th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.95.

Angel Manalang took 18th in the pole vault with a height of 7-feet, 6-inches.

The 400-meter relay team of Dominque Burrell, Jahlyn Mincey, Ayonna Daniels, and Ty’Kevia Morris finished ninth in a time of 51.94.

The 800-meter relay team of Keionna Brown, Ayonna Daniels, Dominique Burrell, and Jahlyn Mincey finished 10th with a time of 1:51.65.
