Hoppers Fall to Dubois County 8-6

Dubois County overcame an early three-run deficit to hand the Hoptown Hoppers an 8-6 loss Saturday at League Stadium in their first meeting of the season.

Hoptown took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, highlighted by a Chandler Kendall RBI double.

The Bombers scored a single run in the second, four in the fourth, and three more in the seventh inning.

Hoptown got two runs back in the eighth inning on a walk and Bomber error, but could not push across more runs.

Santrel Farmer had two of Hopkinsville’s five hits.  Hopper batters struck out 12 times in the game.

Lane Diuguid suffered his first pitching loss for the Hoppers, although he struck out five in four innings.

The Hoppers (10-5) keep their two-game lead over Paducah in the OVL West standings.

Hoptown is scheduled to host Fulton Sunday in doubleheader at Hoptown High.
