The Hoptown Hoppers saw their five-game winning streak snapped with a 10-5 rain-shortened loss at Paducah Wednesday.

A five-run first inning and a five-run fourth inning was all the Chiefs needed to snap a three-game losing streak to the Hoppers.

Brenton Todd had three hits and three RBIs for the Chiefs, while Bryson Bloomer added two hits and two RBIs.

The Hoppers scored all five of their runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run triple by Hunter Evans. Micah Genter had two hits for the Hoppers, who were outhit 10-6.

The game was called after Hoptown batted in the fifth inning due to a thunderstorm that moved through the Paducah area.

Hoptown remains 4.5 games ahead of Paducah in the OVL West standings. The Hoppers travel to third place Fulton on Thursday.
