Five 2nd Region volleyball players have been named to a preseason All-State watch list for the 2019 volleyball season. The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association released its first ever watch list of 94 players that it expects to contend for All-State honors at the end of the season.
Defending region champion Henderson County placed two players on the list, Brooke Springer and Jordan Troutman.
2018 2nd Region runner-up University Heights Academy placed senior Lily Hendricks on the list. The Lady Blazers finished last season 25-15, losing in straight sets to Henderson County in the regional title match.
Expected region contender Caldwell County placed one player on the list. Junior Olivia Mitchell was a big part of the Lady Tiger team that finished 24-10, losing to Henderson County in the regional semis.
Christian County junior Macy Baker also made the list. The Lady Colonels finished 2018 with a record of 14-19.
