Benito Rubio scored twice, and Marcus Crockam added a rebound goal as Christian County beat Todd County Central 3-0 Thursday in the final preseason scrimmage for both teams.
The scrimmage was played in four 20 minutes quarters. After a scoreless first quarter, Rubio scored midway through the second quarter. Crockam added a putback five minutes later for a 2-0 Colonel lead.
Rubio’s second goal came with two minutes left in the third quarter.
Freshman goalie Joshua Settle and the Colonel defense pitched the shutout. Todd County was outshot 12-3 in the game.
Todd County opens their season Tuesday at Barren County, while Christian County opens their season Thursday against Trigg County at the Stadium of Champions.
