Todd County Central completed their preseason football schedule by playing two larger schools in a three-team scrimmage at Hopkinsville High School Friday.

The Rebels lost to Class 4A Hopkinsville 28-20 and 14-6 to Class 6A Marshall County.
Against Hopkinsville, Ja’Twan Graham rushed for three touchdowns. He scored on runs of 4, 4, and 2 yards. His third score came with 4:53 left and put the Rebels up 20-14.

Hopkinsville, who had scored on a 5-yard run by Jayden Dillard and an 8-yard run by Tyrell Gray-Lewis, returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the final 1:40 to steal the win.

Tayshawn Head returned a Rebel pass 22 yards for a score with 1:40 left. Conner Lackey followed suit 51 seconds later when he grabbed a pass and took it 28 yards to the end zone to close out the scoring.

In the second two-quarter scrimmage, Marshall County jumped out to a 14-0 lead only to see the Rebels answer with a late score.

The Rebels were able to move the football on the ground while limiting Hopkinsville’s ground game. Marshall County, who runs the triple option, had better luck running the football but was also taking advantage of a tired Todd County Central team.

Todd County Central opens their season Friday at Calloway County.
