A key momentum swing late in the first set turned out to be the difference as the Todd County Central Lady Rebels fell to Butler County Monday night in Elkton. The Lady Bears used that swing to lead the way to a 25-22 and 25-18 straight set win over the Lady Rebels.

Todd County appeared to be on the verge of taking the first set, leading late, when Butler County ripped off a string of points to close out the set and go up 1-0.

The Lady Bears opened the second set 4-0, only to see the Lady Rebels come back to even things up at 4-4. The match stayed tight much of the way, until Butler County again finished the set strong to close out the win.

Lucy Chester led the Lady Rebels with seven kills. Brylee Shemwell had 4 kills and two sets in the match. Presley Conquest added four aces, three digs, two sets, and two kills.

The Lady Rebels fall to 2-4 on the season and return to action Tuesday against Logan County.
