Things Come Up “Rose-y” for Lady Lyons

It was a good way for the Lyon County Lady Lyons to rebound after a tough loss on Monday night. Just 24 hours after they were blanked by the Caldwell County Lady Tigers in a storm shortened match, the Lady Lyons rebounded with a shutout win of their own against the Webster County Lady Trojans,

Rose Smith generated all the offense the Lady Lyons would need on the evening, scoring both Lyon County goals, as the Lady Lyons picked up the 2-0 win. Bailey Guess and Emily Smith assisted on the goals.

Rose Smith has now scored 21 goals on the season, for an average of three goals per match.

Defensively, the Lady Lyons got a big night from goalie Abby Smith, who finished the evening with seventeen saves. Abby Smith now has 83 saves for the season.

With the win, which was Lyon County’s first in five years over the Lady Trojans, the Lady Lyons improve to 5-2 on the season. They will return to action Thursday evening at home against Fort Campbell.
