Caldwell County’s girls led 1-0 at halftime, but Graves County put up a pair of goals in the second half to take a 2-1 victory Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

It was a strong effort for the Lady Tigers (3-3), who generated several scoring opportunities late but could never punch in a tying goal.

Graves (4-1) got tallies from Raychel Mathis and Nicole Bradley in the second half to pull out the victory.

Mathis scored on a disputed penalty kick in the 61st minute to tie the game. Caldwell thought the foul should have gone the other way.

Bradley then found the net just 3 minutes later to push the Lady Eagles in front.

Caldwell had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half when Lucy Goffinet scored with help from Kaylee McEnaney. That came in the 25th minute of play.

Graves outshot Caldwell 20-13 in the contest.

Karsyn Parker recorded 13 saves in the Lady Tiger net.

Graves now holds a 10-5 lead in the all-time series.
