Cavanaugh Leads Wildcat Runners to Third Place Finish

Trigg County placed three runners in the top 15 to claim third place in the boys’ varsity race at their Fenton Dawson Cross Country Invitational Saturday at the Complex.

Freshman Austin Cavanaugh took third place in a time of 17:42 over the 3.1-mile race. University Heights Academy’s Tomas Duncan won the race in a time of 17:02 with Webster County’s Ryan Roland taking second in 17:30.

Marshall Jenkins bagged a 10th place finish (19:29), and Alex Skinner was 13th (19:40).
Eighth grader Riley Thompson finished 22nd (20:23), followed by Antonio Blackbear-Francis in 44th (21:43), Tyler Freeman in 60th place (22:46), and Ryan Simpson in 70th place (24:26).

Webster County won the team title with 31 points. Stewart County (79) was second, and Trigg County (84) was third. Paducah Tilghman (137) finished in fourth place.
