Lady Falcons Pick Up First Volleyball Win of the Season

Fort Campbell picked up their first volleyball win of the 2019 season and kept Trigg County winless with a four set win Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.

Fort Campbell served the first seven points of the opening set in claiming the 25-18 win. Jasmin Jones served 13 winners in the set – the first seven points and the final six. Dazcha Mailos added three aces for the Lady Falcons.

Faith Kaauamo proved to be the efficient server for the Lady Falcons in the second set, totaling seven winners as Fort Campbell won 25-17. The Lady Falcons used a 5-0 run to claim a 19-14 lead and held on for the win.

Trigg County staved off elimination with a 25-23 win in the third set behind five kills and eight service winners from Iyanna Grubbs. Trigg used a 9-0 run in the set to take a 10-3 lead. The Lady Falcons battled back to within 21-20, but Trigg held on to claim the set.

Fort Campbell jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the fourth set and never let the Lady Wildcats get closer than seven points the rest of the way in winning the set 25-14 and the match 3-1.

The Lady Falcons (1-5) will play Caldwell County Wednesday at home in the All-A Classic region semifinals.

Trigg County (0-5) will look for their first win this weekend at the wRECk at the Plex at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex in Hopkinsville.
