Lady Blazers Sweep Fort Campbell in District Tilt

The UHA Lady Blazers picked up their second straight win Monday night since falling in last week’s All A Classic volleyball regional championship game. The Lady Blazers cruised past Fort Campbell, winning the 8th District matchup in straight sets.

The Lady Blazers had their struggles early in the opening set finding their service groove, with several service errors early. Leading 9-7, the Lady Blazers found their groove and went on a 9-1 run to push the lead out to 18-8. From their UHA rolled on to the 25-12 win. Meghan Adams had 3 aces and one kill in the set. Katie Beth Stevens added 3 kills.

While still battling a few service problems, the Lady Blazers took care of business a bit quicker in the 2nd set. UHA jumped out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back, rolling to a 25-7 win to go up 2-0 in the match. Katie Beth Stevens had 3 kills in the set. Clarissa Miller added 2 kills and 2 aces.

The Lady Falcons played their best volleyball of the evening at the beginning of the 3rd set. Behind strong play from Jasmin Jones and Amauri Pratt, Fort Campbell led 5-4 in the early going. With the set tied 11-11, UHA went on a 7-0 run to take an 18-11 lead. Katie Beth Stevens had three kills and Evelyn Morales had two aces in the run. From there the Lady Blazers went on to close out the set 25-17. Katie Beth Stevens had 3 kills. Clarissa Miller had 3 kills and 3 aces. Evelyn Morales added 3 aces.

With the win, UHA improves to 8-2 on the season. They will be back in district play again Tuesday night when they host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers in 8th District play.

Fort Campbell Falls to 2-8. The Lady Falcons are in action again Tuesday night when they travel to Christian County for another 8th District battle.
