Defense Rules as UHA Plays Marshall to 0-0 Tie

9-12-hancock

Solid defensive play made goals hard to come by at Givens Field Thursday as University Heights and Marshall County played to a 0-0 tie. It was the first scoreless tie for the Lady Blazers since a 0-0 district contest with Christian County 15 years ago.

The first matchup between the Lady Blazers and Lady Marshals since 2012 had the defense on display all night. For UHA, it’s their second straight tie since beating Murray Monday in the All-A Classic sectional round. UHA and Caldwell played to a 2-2 stalemate Tuesday.

It was the fourth shutout for UHA this season and lowered their goals against average to just 1.3 per game.

Marshall County stands at 8-2-3 on the season. UHA is 5-2-2 and will host Fort Campbell Saturday in a district contest moved to a 5:30 start at Givens Field.
