With their win over the Caldwell County Lady Tigers in the last match of the day, the Murray High Lady Tigers clinched the title in the girls side of the 2019 Colonel Showcase. The win over Caldwell County, combined with a win over Hopkinsville earlier in the day, gave Murray enough points to take the title.
Hopkinsville finished their day with a 9-0 win over the Hopkins Central Lady Storm. The shutout win generated enough points to put the Lady Tigers in a second place tie with Logan County. Earlier in the day, Hopkinsville had their scoreless match streak come to an end in a 3-1 loss to Murray.
Logan County, also finished the day at 1-1. The Lady Cougars fell 5-2 to Caldwell County. However, Logan County responded with a 5-4 win over the host Christian County Lady Colonels. The win generated enough points to get the Lady Cougars into the second place tie with Logan County.
Caldwell County’s 2-1 loss to Murray in the final match of the day dropped the Lady Tigers to 4th place in the event, just one point behind both Logan County and Hopkinsville. Caldwell County’s win was a 5-2 victory over Logan County.
The one goal Caldwell County scored in the loss to Murray was enough to drop Hopkins Central into 5th place. The Lady Storm had a win over Christian County, and a 9-0 loss to Hopkinsville.
