9-24-thomas

After an emotional game Monday that saw University Heights Academy tie Trigg County in a match they felt they won outright, the Blazers rebounded with a 5-1 win at Webster County.

Tanner Thomas scored both of UHA’s goals in the first half, with Ethan Hale and Will Bryan assisting on the scores.

Thomas completed the hat trick 11 minutes into the second half, taking a helper from Bryan for his third goal of the game.

Connor Dill added a penalty kick, and Ethan Alexander scored in stoppage time off a Thomas pass to complete the scoring for the Blazers. Will Maxwell had nine saves in goal for UHA, who have allowed two or fewer goals for the seventh time in eight games.

University Heights improves to 10-4-1 – their third straight season with double-digit wins. The Blazers will play at Owensboro Thursday.
