Another tough blow for Elijah Sindelar on the football field.

The former Caldwell County star and Kentucky Mr. Football was injured during Saturday’s 38-31 loss to Minnesota in West Lafayette, Ind.

Sindelar, a fifth-year senior who still has another year of eligibility remaining, is believed to have suffered a broken collarbone after being sacked in the first half and landing on his left shoulder.

Sindelar was making his return to the Purdue offense after suffering a concussion against Vanderbilt on Sept. 7,

Sindelar was leading the NCAA is passing through two games before missing the TCU game. Purdue then had an open week last Saturday.

Even more devastating for Purdue was that another former star from the Bluegrass State, Rondale Moore, was injured on the very same play as Sindelar.

Moore, a former Louisville Trinity standout, was bumped while running a route and appeared to twist his left leg when he planted it to move.

Moore and Sindelar both had to be helped off the field.

No official word yet from Purdue on the severity of the injuries to either player.
